PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
- Designed new type of structured annuity at F and G
- Developed first click-to-purchase disability income insurance in the United States
- Created National Consumer Cost Tool allowing Blues plan members in more than 20 states to view the typical cost of 54 elective procedures at facilities in their area
- Developed new PPO High Performance Network for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
PRICING AND MODELING
- Set credited rates for all deferred annuities at MassMutual and F and G (over 8b in force)
- Primary pricing decision maker for disability income and other living benefits at Munich Re; led team of AXIS modelers for disability income pricing
- Chief actuary of Puerto Rico business unit at Assurant; oversaw pricing for all five product lines
- Performed annual experience analysis and pricing changes by region for Aetna's stop loss insurance products
- Stochastically modeled impact of guaranteed minimums on credited rates during steeply falling interest rate environment
- At Aetna, redesigned group long-term disability insurance rating system
REGULATORY SUPPORT
- Served as Appointed Actuary for two life companies, including a client's captive reinsurance company
- Signed off on reserves; led creation of annual statement actuarial exhibits and reports
- Successfully represented clients to regulators and auditors
Mark has the necessary experience and education (basic and continuing), per the Academy of Actuaries Qualification Standards for Prescribed Statements of Actuarial Opinion, to render a public statement of actuarial opinion.
